Sharp launches new Japanese 11.5 kWh Eee Storage battery for residential use
Sharp has announced a significant update to its premium residential energy solutions portfolio, launching new Japanese-made energy storage equipment with the company’s updated Eee Storage branding.
The new JH-WB2621 model offers an expanded 11.5 kWh capacity via lithium iron phosphate battery chemistry, representing a 21% increase over Sharp’s previous comparable models, while reducing the overall footprint by 35%, making it more compact for urban environments.
Overall, it reduced the volume per kilowatt-hour by 55%, and the product can also be used indoors or outdoors.
The JH-WB2621 has a net weight of 95 kg, with a described “industry-leading lightweight construction” for easier installation, with dimensions 458 mm x 360 mm x 777 mm.
A central component of the new system is its integration with Sharp’s Cocoro Energy app and control system, which now uses AI. TThe cloud-based system uses AI to learn household living patterns and solar power generation conditions for smart management of battery levels and consumption. According to Sharp, this can raise the solar power self-consumption rate to almost 75%, thereby cutting grid costs.

The new battery has a nominal capacity of 11.5 kWh and an initial usable capacity of 10.5 kWh, measured according to Japanese standard JIS C 4413.
The battery has an operating temperature range of -15 C to 45 C. Sharp said installation is possible at temperatures as low as -20 C, although charging and discharging can be significantly restricted at low temperatures to protect the battery. Still, much hotter and colder regions may now be eligible for the new battery.
The storage system can be paired with Sharp’s JH-59TF4 and JH-40TF2 battery-linked power conditioners. One battery can be connected to each power conditioner, with Sharp’s JH-WDT11 battery converter required for each storage unit.
During grid outages, the storage system can supply electricity through the household distribution board rather than requiring appliances to be moved to dedicated emergency sockets. Depending on the system configuration and household wiring, it can also supply 200 V loads such as induction cooktops.
Users can choose between whole-home backup and a configuration in which only selected circuits remain powered during an outage. The latter can extend backup duration by restricting electricity consumption to predefined loads, and may reduce installation costs for homeowners.
Sharp said the new system increases battery discharge output during outages from 3.0 kVA for its previous model to 4.2 kVA, allowing households to run multiple heavy-load appliances simultaneously.
Pricing and availability: New Sharp Eee Storage from September
The Sharp Eee Storage JH-WB2621 is scheduled for release on September 8, 2026. The company has set initial monthly production volume of 1,000 units for the domestic Japanese market.
Sharp noted the recommended retail price for the 11.5 kWh main battery unit is ¥3,751,000 with tax (USD ~23,550), with the translated footnote that a “battery-integrated power conditioner, battery converter, multi-energy monitor, etc. are required separately.”
