Ford launches battery storage business, repurposing EV manufacturing capacity
The automotive giant will leverage its plants in Kentucky and Michigan, along with its lithium iron phosphate (LFP) technology know-how, to provide solutions for energy infrastructure and the expanding data center market. The company plans to begin shipping battery energy storage systems (BESS) in 2027.
Tata’s battery arm advances construction of 20 GWh manufacturing facility
Agratas, the global battery business of the Tata Group, is rapidly advancing the construction work for its battery manufacturing facility in Sanand, Gujarat. This facility will have a planned annual capacity of 20 GWh in its first phase.

Plans for BESS assembly plant in Nigeria
RIPLEnergy Company has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with GIB EnergyX Slovakia s.r.o. to co-develop an assembly plant in Nigeria. The new plant should supply Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) in support of RIPLE’s Renewable Energy investments to supply commercial and industrial demand for 24/7 electricity.

Verkor secures €1.3 billion for French gigafactory
French battery manufacturer Verkor has secured more than €1.3 billion ($1.41 billion) in green financing for the construction of its first gigafactory in France. The production facility will supply batteries for electric vehicles (EVs) and stationary storage across Europe.
