Sungrow’s Brazilian business is heating up for batteries as solar project demand cools
At Intersolar 2025, Sungrow's Brazil country manager, Rafael Ribeiro, told pv magazine Brasil the company submitted more than 80 proposals to supply battery energy storage systems (BESS) between January and June alone, to projects interested in participating in the Leilão de Reserva de Capacidade na Forma de Potência (LRCAP) auction for battery storage.

First of 444 Tesla Megapacks installed in Melbourne Hub
The first of 444 Tesla Megapack battery components is now being installed at the Melbourne Renewable Energy Hub in Australia. The big battery in the state of Victoria is co-owned by the State Electricity Commission (SEC) and Singapore-based renewable energy investor Equis Australia. The SEC says the site is on track to be operational in 2025.

GUVNL launches 1.6 GWh battery storage tender in India
Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd (GUVNL)—the state electricity regulation owned by the state government of Gujarat—is accepting bids to set up standalone battery energy storage systems (BESS) connected with the state grid with an aggregate storage capacity of 800 MWh (400 MW x 2 hours).

Green light for 228 MW battery storage near Scottish nuclear power station
The Scottish government has approved a major battery energy storage system (BESS) project in Dalkeith, near Edinburgh. Project developer Kona Energy told ESS News it now plans to accelerate development of the project to commission ahead of its existing summer 2028 grid connection date.
