Galileo has completed the sale of a 98 MW, licensed, battery energy storage project located in southern Italy to an international independent power producer with a growing presence in Italy.

ContourGlobal, a British company acquired by KKR in 2022, is rumored to be the buyer of the site, which is said to be in Campania.

Galileo and ContourGlobal told pv magazine Italia they could not comment on the news.

According to Galileo, the project’s location makes it suitable for several offtake solutions, including participation in the first auction of the MACSE scheme, scheduled for September 2025.
