Chinese solar manufacturer Shenzhen First Tech (1stess) has introduced a new 15 kWh battery energy storage product. The 48V/314Ah 15kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery system is available in two versions: one with a control screen and one without.

“Designed with safety, scalability, and intelligence, this product is engineered to meet diverse climatic and geographical challenges worldwide,” the company said in a statement. “Up to 16 units can be paralleled without an external controller, scaling to 160kWh, which makes the system suitable for commercial backup.”

The system has a nominal voltage of 48 and a nominal capacity of 314 Ah. The charge voltage is 54.7 V, with a maximum charge current of 200 A; however, the firm recommends keeping it below 150 A. Its charging temperature range is 0-65 C, and its discharging temperature range is -20-65 C. It is good for at least 6,000 life cycles.

“The product is compatible with most hybrid/battery inverters in self-consumption, backup, and off-grid applications,” the company noted. “It has a strong pre-charge and balancing capability. It also has a remote data and firmware upgrading functionality.”

The battery is floor-mounted and is to be installed indoors. It has an IP20 ingress protection rating and can operate at altitudes up to 3,000 meters and humidity levels between 5% and 90%. It measures 74 cm in width, 38 cm in height, 25 cm in depth, and weighs 115 kg.
