Swedish–French partnership aims for 200 MW of battery projects in France
Swedish company Ingrid Capacity and French developer Wattmen have entered into a co-development agreement to deploy 200 MW of battery energy storage systems in France. The first projects are expected to be ready for construction by 2026-2027.

Testing fault at 100 MW battery disrupts Estonia–Finland power link
During testing at Estonia’s 100 MW Kiisa battery park, both EstLink 1 and EstLink 2 tripped, triggering the most severe disturbance to the regional power grid since desynchronization from the Russian electricity system. As a result, nearly 1 GW of capacity was lost within seconds. The park’s owner has since publicly pointed to the battery manufacturer.

EU installs 27.1 GWh of battery storage in 2025 as utility-scale systems drive majority of growth
Utility-scale installations now represent more than half of new capacity in a significant market shift, while residential storage, long the main growth driver, declined due to lower electricity prices and reduced support schemes, a new report from SolarPower Europe finds.

Enery secures $298 million project financing for CEE, begins construction of 1 GWh BESS in Romania
Earlier this month, Enery announced the start of construction of more than 1 GWh of battery energy storage systems (BESS) in Romania, which will be co-located with 761 MW of solar PV.
