Deye launches 2 kWh hybrid ESS for residential, off-grid PV
Chinese inverter manufacturer Deye has launched a new micro-hybrid ESS for residential and off-grid applications.
The AE-F(S)2.0-2H2 system combines a microinverter, battery module, and BMS. Its setup features a 2-kWh battery, and up to four expansion modules can be added to a total storage of 10kWh.
“It offers multiple output ports, meeting the diverse energy needs of various devices simultaneously, whether at home or in the great outdoors,” Deye said. “Equipped with two maximum power point trackers (MPPTs) and a high PV power input of 1,600 W, it can be paired with over 99% of photovoltaic panels on the market, offering maximum flexibility. “
The system has an output of 800 W, a 96.5% DC-AC conversion efficiency, and a 4 millisecond on-grid/off-grid switch. Its battery has a chemistry of lithium iron phosphate battery (LiFePO4) and is rated for 6,000 cycles life, designed for a 10-year service life.
“The micro-hybrid ESS features a unique AC coupling function that easily upgrades existing balcony micro-inverter systems,” the company said. “It could ensure no energy waste from the existing systems while meeting power needs during nighttime or outages.”
The system operates in three modes: green power mode, which charges only when PV power is sufficient; time-of-use mode, which optimizes usage based on pricing; and full charge mode, serving as a power backup. The unit weighs 24 kg and is 450 mm in width, 210 mm in depth, and 321 mm in height. It can function in temperatures ranging from -10 C to 50 C.
