GoldenPeaks Capital and Huawei sign MoU for 500 MWh of battery storage in Poland, Hungary
GoldenPeaks Capital and Huawei in Poland have signed a memorandum of understanding for 500 MWh of battery energy storage systems (BESS) in Central and Eastern Europe.
Huawei will provide its grid-forming energy storage platform from its Huawei Digital Power suite. GoldenPeaks Capital will deploy the systems in Poland and Hungary and potentially other countries.
GoldenPeaks Capital is a large independent power producer in Central and Eastern Europe, and has been adding battery storage to its portfolio. Already in 2025, it added 54 MW/216 MWh of storage, bringing its total ready-to-build storage portfolio to 392 MW/1.6 GWh. The company said its projects have 17-year revenue guarantees through Poland’s capacity market auctions.
“The signing of this MoU is an important milestone in the strategic cooperation between Huawei and GPC,” said Jianjun Zhou, Vice President of Huawei and President of Global Marketing, Sales and Services of Huawei Digital Power. “Huawei Digital Power will support GPC’s energy storage strategy in Europe with All-Scenario Grid Forming capabilities and end-to-end high-quality standards covering R&D, production, and services, to jointly respond to the EU’s carbon neutrality goals.”
Adriano Agosti, Founder and Chairman of GoldenPeaks Capital said: “Huawei’s technological innovation and GPC’s regional business presence complement each other seamlessly. Together we are setting new industry benchmarks in advanced battery storage systems.”
The agreement was signed by Fubin Lu, Chief Procurement Officer of GPC, and Nathan Zhao, Director of Huawei Poland Digital Power. Adriano Agosti, Founder and Chairman of GPC, and Jianjun Zhou, Vice President of Huawei and President of Global Marketing, Sales and Services of Huawei Digital Power, attended the signing ceremony.
The companies did not disclose the timeline or exact projects or locations for the 500 MWh deployment.
