French renewables developer ZE Energy has bought the Solar Challenge 4 Srl project company behind a 100 MW, Renew-Co Engineering battery energy storage system in Sessa Aurunca, Campania.

The Italian project was the subject of a successful bid in the first MACSE auction.

“The acquisition was closed regardless of the positive outcome of the MACSE auction,” legal firm DWF told pv magazine Italia.

The Milanese legal firm, which advised ZE on the deal, said the acquisition was begun in May. DWF said the deal was worth €10 million to €20 million.

Renew-Co Engineering was advised by Green Horse.
